Mike Huckabee

Here's a short post on why I like Mike Huckabee over other candidates. Let me first say that I never paid attention to Duncan Hunter until last night's debate, but I also like his stances. Not as much as Mike, and he has no shot of actually getting the Republican nomination, so of the top candidates, Mike is my choice. When I first looked at the candidates a few weeks back I spent a few hours surfing each of their sites. I really liked Alan Keyes too, but like Duncan, he has no shot at the nomination.

I do not vote Democrat. I used to a long time ago, mainly because my parents taught me that the Democrats were for the "little guy". Once I "grew up" (long after becoming an adult) and began to think for myself, I realized the Republicans are more in line with my beliefs than the Democrats. This was before I became a Christian. Now that I am a Christian, this is even more true. I have always been anti-fag, pro-gun, pro-reduced Federal government and recently I shifted from pro-choice to pro-life.

Anyhow, Mike not only has a real shot, he also has a solid core-values stance, and he is not afraid to stand by it. That says a lot. We should not be ashamed of our faith. He has actually touted it, and I have respect for that. Looking at the other 2 top contenders, Mitt and Rudy, there really is no choice. Mitt is a Mormon. Being and Evangelical, I will not vote for him. Period. Call me biased, but that's the way I feel. I don't see how anyone could be gullible enough to believe the Mormon untruths. I just can't bring myself to vote for someone who would buy into Mormonism, Jehovah's Witness or any other cult, no matter how they stand on issues. Besides that we can look at his past record on abortion and fags to see that he recently flipped his position. I will give him credit for saying he was wrong, but I still don't trust him. Rudy is a wanna-be Republican. He shouldn't even be on the ticket. Anti-gun, pro-choice, pro-fag, need I say anything else?

Let's hope Mike can pull it off!! He's what we need to get this country back on track, although unfortunately it's probably already too late. It begins with the proper morals. Starting from the top, let's put the "God" back in "IN GOD WE TRUST"!!

New Life

Well, it's been quite a while since I posted, and a lot has changed. I bring you up to speed prior to my "New Life", and then I'll go into that.

Went to J & P, it was OK. Went to the Kansas City Run, as always it was a good time. Got another tattoo from East Coast Al, this one was picture of my black lab holding a mallard on my chest. Spent many hours getting my duck boat blind made. Only shot one duck so far this year, but got my first ring-necked duck!! Also shot 2 coot that same day. The season ends this coming Sunday. I had some major problems with my car, and to take the wive's car up for deer hunting, and then fixed mine last week after I came back. Finally got a deer after 4-5 years. Just a small nubby buck, but the meat is very tender. I don't worry about size. Also shot at a big doe, but there was no blood or hair when I got down from my stand. My buddy shot at her about a minute later but missed also, and he didn't see any blood either. She's probably still running.

Now for my new life. On September 23rd I was flipping through the channels and stopped on a program on the local Christian channel.

Now, I should say that for the previous 25 years I was somewhere between agnostic and athiest. A few years ago we stopped going to the Unity Church when the Pastor moved to California. Up until then I had an understanding of God, as based in the 12-step program, as a Higher Power, but definitely not Jesus. After my heart attack in January of 2005, when my heart stopped twice, I pretty much went from agnostic to full-blown athiest. A number of months ago my wife and daughters started going to to Pentecostal Assemblies of God Church, and I noticed a change in her, and she had been talking to me about going to it. So, anyhow, I stopped on this program, which was about the end times, Prophecy Watch, and then after that Prophecy in the News came on. I went and got her Bible, seeing I didn't have one, just to see what they were talking about. As I read, I had a number of questions in my head. I randomly flipped open the Bible, and each time I did, there was the answer!!! Plus I would hear a verse on TV, and then randomly flipping, it would be right there on the page I flipped to. I kept hearing the same verses over a few days, in readings, on TV and etc. It was more than mere coincidence, and proved to me God was trying to reach me. I had grown up going to a little Christan Church across the street from my house, and had a strong faith, but I left that behind when I was 12. I asked Jesus to be my saviour that night, and took that leap of faith. Although I still had doubts, and many questions, those began to be answered by programs I was watching on TV that had to have been divinely put in my path. There could be no other explanation. I now watch almost exclusively Christian TV. I read the Bible every day. I have a desire to learn more about the Bible and become more Christ-like. I was never Baptized, so on Dec 23rd the whole family is getting Baptized. What a blessing!! I plan to go to a local Bible College in Fall of 2009 after I finish my AAS Degree in Logistics in Spring of 2009. I will eventually become ordained so I can fill in, or teach, at the Non-Denominational Chruch we now attend. The Assemblies of God Church was just too weird and too far from the actaul truths of the Bible for me. That's a whole another subject I'll write about at a later date. This was just a quick update, I'll get more into the rest of my new life at a later date. I will try to blog at least once a week, rather than once every 5 months!!! Until then, God bless you!!!
